Del Pippo: A Playful, Professional Font for Small Business Branding

Last Tuesday, I sat at my kitchen table—coffee cold, sticker sheet half-peeled—and stared at the label draft for my new lavender-honey candle line. The font felt… off. Too stiff for something meant to feel warm and handmade. Too generic next to the hand-drawn illustrations I’d spent weeks perfecting. That’s when I remembered Del Pippo: a script font I’d saved months ago but never tried. Within an hour, I swapped it in for the product name on the jar label—and everything clicked.

Del Pippo isn’t just another script font. It’s a Script Amp typeface with personality: bouncy curves, confident strokes, and that subtle sense of motion—like ink still dancing across the page. It feels joyful without being childish, energetic without sacrificing elegance. Think of it as the friendly neighbor who shows up to your pop-up booth with fresh cookies *and* a perfectly styled Instagram story.

I use Del Pippo for anything customers see first: the bold “Honey & Lavender” on my candle jars, the playful header on my thank-you cards, the hand-lettered tagline on my reusable tote bags. It works beautifully on packaging—even tiny 1.5-inch labels—because its letterforms are open, legible, and balanced. No squinting. No second guesses. Just instant recognition and warmth.

As a small business owner, consistency is everything. Before Del Pippo, my social media posts used three different fonts—sometimes even within one carousel. My café menu (yes, I also run a weekend coffee pop-up!) mixed a handwritten font for specials with a sterile sans serif for prices. Customers didn’t say it out loud—but the visual noise made us feel less intentional, less trustworthy. Switching to Del Pippo as my primary display font—and pairing it with a clean, airy sans serif like Inter or Lato for body text—gave everything cohesion. Suddenly, my brand looked like it had a plan.

Here’s where Del Pippo shines:

It’s not meant for long paragraphs—that’s where your trusted sans serif comes in. Del Pippo is a display font, designed for impact: titles, logos, accents, invitations, and any moment you want to say, “Hey—this is special.”

Readability matters, especially on small formats. I tested Del Pippo on a 12mm candle lid label—no problem. On mobile thumbnails? Still clear and expressive. For printed materials, I stick to sizes 14pt and up for body copy accents, and 24pt+ for headlines. And because it’s a well-designed premium font, it includes OpenType features like ligatures and stylistic alternates—so “Del Pippo” doesn’t look like two separate words slapped together, but a cohesive, living name.

Pairing is simple and satisfying. I almost always go with a soft, humanist sans serif—something with gentle curves and generous spacing. It lets Del Pippo breathe while grounding the design in clarity. For a more elevated look (say, for a botanical skincare line), I’ve paired it with a delicate serif like Cormorant Garamond—just for headers, never body text. Never pair it with another busy script; Del Pippo is the star, not part of an ensemble cast.

Before downloading, I always check what’s included: multiple weights (Del Pippo has Regular and Bold), file formats (OTF and WOFF for web use), multilingual support (it covers Latin-based languages including accented characters used in French, Spanish, and German), and most importantly—commercial licensing. Since I sell physical products and digital templates, I needed full rights for packaging, merch, and client work. Del Pippo’s license covers all of it—no surprises, no extra fees.

What surprised me most wasn’t how much prettier things looked—it was how much faster I worked. With one reliable, expressive font in my toolkit, I stopped second-guessing every headline. My Canva templates got simpler. My printer approvals went smoother. Even my wholesale partners commented on how “cohesive” the new branding felt—without knowing exactly why.

Typography isn’t magic—but choosing the right typeface can feel like finding the missing ingredient in your brand recipe. Del Pippo gave my small business a voice that’s both approachable and intentional. Not too serious. Not too silly. Just right.

If you’re refreshing your café menu, redesigning soap labels, building an online shop, or launching your first Etsy collection—give Del Pippo a try. Not as a trend, but as a tool: one that helps your customers feel something before they even read a word.
